We are a small scale breeder focusing on health, longevity and temperament.
Cafe Rats Rattery is located in Knightstown, IN.
About 45 minutes away from Indy by I-70.
We offer drop off all the way to Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan and Illinois. Our fee is 40c/mi.
This makes the drop off fee to Chicago, IL, Columbus, OH, Lansing, MI and Lexington, KY all come out to around $80.
We allow visits of 1-4 people at a time to our rattery to meet our Baristas or choose one of their Brews to take home with you. Please contact us to schedule
an appointment.
You can pick up your rats from our rattery at a scheduled pick up time.
We will meet you in the middle for pickup if the meet up location is less than 50 mi away from Knightstown. If the location is further, our fee is 20c/mi
Café Rats was established in May of 2025. At that time, the breeder who had sold us our rats quit breeding them. Our founder had 12 boys at the time (don't judge), so we had a sample of lots of different genetics. We are very lucky to get the start we were given! The founder's heart rat, Espresso, has great temperament, and she felt she would be wasting an opportunity not to breed his line into the beautiful rats from the hobbyist who quit. We began test breeding last year, and we're very happy with how things are turning out!
